When I first envisioned the Shadow Light Apothecary as I wanted it I had seen it as being a place for more than just the Arcane Arts. It was going to be a place of Healing. The shelves would be stocked full of all kinds of herbal goods whether it be ointments and lotions or potions for all your ails. I am no medical doctor nor professor of botany, but health care does seem to run in the family. I wanted the Shadow Light Apothecary to be a place for magickal goods and services as well as natural healing and remedies. I wanted to incorporate numerous fields of study and experimentation into my practice ranging from Alchemy to the use of Crystals. Yes, I am aware that many people are against the use of Crystals because it is too hippie dippy and New Age while others simply don't believe in their efficacy or that they should remain in the Earth save the pieces Fate allows you to come across. I don't know if Crystals work or not, but I am willing to learn and possibly more importantly I want to know how they work. I believe that there is more to it than letting the crystals give off vibrations just like there is more to the use of herbs in witchcraft than just tossing them together.

Mullein Lotion - According to Scott Cunningham's Encyclopedia of Magical Herbs Mullein can be used to make an ointment designed to protect the wearer from the attacks of Black Magick. For those of you who don't like it when magick is used in conjunction with a color then please understand that when I use this term I am not trying to ascribe a certain color to magick as I do understand and know that magick is neutral and colorless in that sense. The colorization ideal of magick is dependent upon the intention of the witch. 

Now, I figured that instead of making a small jar or other container of Mullein Ointment why not just experiment and create a body lotion that can be used regularly? A lotion that has the combined benefits of spiritual rejuvenation and protection along with giving the wearer healthy skin etc. This product is still yet to be created and added to the store, but for now it will be listed here to give you guys an idea of things I want to work on for the future. 

Spite Doll/Poppet - Sometime back I had stumbled across a blog about Ozark Folk Magick created by Dr. Lazarus Corbeaux. He had a very short post with a picture of an Ozark Spite Doll which intrigued me, but I had no idea how to make one and only recently (at that time) learned about them, but one of the benefits of having an interest in Witchcraft is that you tend to develop or already have a sense of creativity. After all it is called witch-craft for a reason. I didn't see any reason why someone couldn't create a doll made specifically for negative work. When I thought of this idea for the shop I had a basic idea where the doll, like in the post, would be made from burlap (I don't know about you, but with me burlap always conjured unpleasant thoughts like remembering a movie I saw as a child where some guy had a burlap bag with rats in it strung around his neck while the rats attacked him) and stuffed with Belladonna or at least some other appropriate ingredient. 

Spell Boxes - In the Products page under Herbs & Other Natural Curios you will find two dead rose bushes for sale. I have thought about saving at least one back to create a spell box designed for either breaking up a couple or causing a couple distress. This would probably end up having been the most expensive of any of the spell boxes I had planned on creating and selling because of the ingredients being used in its construction plus you can't go head first into any kind of negative spell work with a clouded mind or folly in your heart. Negativity has a way of eating at you until the only thing left is a shell or husk of your former self. Don't let the negative become an obsession - this spell box, like the Spite Doll above is only truly intended for cases that call for such drastic measures. Sometimes sticking a needle into the foot of another is needed and required. 

I am also planning on making some spell boxes oriented either towards a specific planetary force or towards a specific goal such as Love or Road Opening. 

The Devil's Herbarium - The actual ideal of what it will look like is yet to be decided though it will consist of a wooden box that has been painted with either certain symbols or a devilish image, either plastic bags or glass jars full of various herbs and plants associated with the Devil throughout folklore. 

St. Barbara - Protection From Lightning Charm - Whether if this charm will be in the form of a Conjure Bag or not is yet to be decided. Ultimately I am thinking of making it into a Conjure Bag with ingredients like Basil and Lightning Struck Wood to name a couple. The bag will also consist of a small St. Barbara metal charm attached to either the string of the bag or sewn directly onto the bag. The Bag will, of course, be prayed over in honor of St. Barbara in front of Her picture with offerings and a seven day novena candle burning. The bag will also be surrounded by smaller candles lit and infused with Prayers to the Most Glorious St. Barbara! I am also thinking of adding similar Saint Charm Bags or Saint Charms dedicated to/for The Most Blessed Virgin Mother and Her Glorious Son/Sun, Our Lord Jesus Christ! 

Norse Inspired Charms & Talismans - I don't know how far this will go, but I want to keep any work I do with the Norse Gods and the Runes in-line with Traditional Witchcraft. When I was first contemplating the Witch Bags I had originally thought of maybe utilizing the Elder Futhark Runes in conjunction with Odin a.k.a Woden. Partially being of Dutch heritage and being who I am, I wanted to find out what kind of spiritual/religious system the Dutch had in life or rather what the primary spiritual/religious stream was in the Netherlands. All that I could find was that the Netherlands either been forced to adopt or willingly adopted the beliefs and deities of the Germain peoples which would have directly introduced the Netherlands to the Norse system of deities, magick, and spirituality. Keep in mind that I am no historian and rather than taking my word for it, do your own research and learn. I am not accepting this as truth mostly because I am not sure how reliable the source material was which I think was Wikipedia. It was several years ago when I did the research. 

The Corpus Christi Herbarium - This is similar to the Devil's Herbarium except that the herbs and other plants included are that of the Christ Mysteries possibly including the plants associated with the various Marys of Christ' life. Some ingredients would include: Holly, Lavender, Euphorbia, and Hawthorn. 

Necro Christi Series of Charms & Other Sorcerous Goods - A series of sorcerous products that I would like to introduce to the Shadow Light Apothecary are that of the Necro Christ or rather Christ, the Necromancer. This would also extend to that of various Saints and Folk Saints. 

Necro Rosary & the Rosarium Muertos - This is two separate distinct items. The Necro Rosary will consist purely of a Gnostic Catholic rosary utilized in the conjuring up of shades and other undead. It is essentially a talisman of Mageia Nekros or Necro Magick which is more commonly referred to as Necromancy. Despite the fact that this word refers specifically to the art of divination via the dead, it has become synonymous with all things mageia nekros. 

The Rosarium Muertos is also a rosary, but one that has been designated to the sanctity of praying to and for the dearly departed. According to common folkloric belief you it might be best to utilize two different rosaries for this purpose: one for your ancestors and/or the ones that have passed on (some would suggest not mixing and matching ancestors with non-ancestors and that you should use a separate rosary for them as well) then another rosary specifically for the Anima Sola. Energies that arise from praying the Rosary in conjunction with a specific intention will settle with the Rosary in use which is why different rosaries are suggested for different use. It is also respectful to give the Ancestors a Rosary of their own if they are in fact Catholic or Gnostic etc. 

An interesting idea would be to work on creating a Rosarium Nekros which is not to be confused with the previously mentioned items. This would be an altar decoration and ritual tool. A garland or wreath made up of plants and herbs associated with Death either in general or in conjunction with a specific cultural background such as the Mexican Day of the Dead. 

The Thanatos Herbarium - also known as the Herbarium of Death which, despite its name, is not intended as a Cursing Herbarium though that would be a great idea! This would be a collection of plants and herbs associated with Death both as an entity and as a noun. Needless to say that not every herb associated with Death is always recognized as such nor as an herb connecting with Saturn as death plants have associations with the Moon and Mercury. 

These Herbariums would of course consist of a bit more than herbs and plants in some cases especially this one which could consist of legally obtained human bone powder and or animal bone powder. I am against animal cruelty, but if I happen to come across a carcass or bit of animal especially if it was meant to be found, I might decide to take what is needed or simply bury the animal. 

Herbarium of the Bane Worker - this is as you guessed, an herbarium designated towards the Dark Arts or rather the darker side of witchcraft. You may be wondering why the Devil's Herbarium isn't advertised as such and the simple reason is that the Devil's Herbarium was created as a folkloric trinket almost. The ingredients that would go into one would be for more than just Hexing or Cursing, but also Healing as is the Devil's Bit. The Herbarium of the Bane Worker would be a select collection of various herbs and plants if not also other ingredients being concerned specifically with the art of cursing. 

Herbarium of the Healer - Yep, I am sure you saw this one coming! A collection of various herbs and plants constituting the multi-cultural art of physical and spiritual healing. This one will be a very unique Herbarium compared to the others, because, if requested by the buyer, I will include certain religious artifacts generally that of Catholicism. These artifacts, to name a few, would consist of Prayer Cards a.k.a Holy Cards, Saint Medallions, a Crucifix, and Holy Oil which is Blessed Olive Oil. 

Herbarium Angeli or the Angelic Herbarium - alternative title The Herbarium of (the) Angels is an herbarium filled with various Holy herbs, plants and ingredients associated with the Angels or are simply considered Holy in some way or another such as Hawthorne or Palo Santo and herbs like Yerba Santa, Angelica root, and Bay Laurel for angels. This herbarium can also alternatively be fixed to fit that of Saints in general or a specific class of saints such as for Exorcism (St. Michael and St. Benedict) or Necromancy (St. Cyprian or St. Lazarus). 

Lilith Rosary - Grant it, Lilith is not strictly from Catholicism, but there are unspoken connections with Lilith in Catholicism and Christianity in general. Is has often made me wonder whether if Lilith was present at the Crucifixion or throughout the Life of various characters of the Life of Jesus. It is believed that Lilith is a harlot and Mary Magdalene was considered to be a harlot as well. There are many correspondences that exist and it is quite amazing that Lilith is present within several different cultures through different times. She is found in Sumerian and Greek mythology as well as Jewish and Arabic lore. She has been equated with the Holy Spirit and Mother of Witches. 

Lilith has been seen as being purely for women, but She is so much more than that! To respect Her mysteries is to respect Woman. Lilith left Adam because Adam was single-minded and a chauvinistic pig. He wanted to control Her and She wanted to feel equal especially during love making. The Feminine Mysteries are as potent as the Masculine Mysteries. We all have both male and female within us which needs balancing, but to balance each other requires that you understand and respect the other as they truly are and not for how you think they should be or how they think you should be etc. 

The Devil's Sack or alternatively bag, and you can go ahead and get your heads out of the gutter! I am not particularly in the interest of skinning the Devil's giblet bag for magickal purposes, but that must be a hot damn charm! This most powerful charm is inspired by the Hoodoo charm of a similar name, Devil Hand. Hand is another term for a mojo bag and whereas this Hoodoo charm is used for protection the charm I am presenting is designed as a talisman for summoning or rather calling forth the Devil's Influence! Grant it, I can't make any guarantees as I still need to be able to make one of these charms and test it out for myself. The intention is that it will be used in ritual to call forth the Devil (intentionally the folkloric devil than the hell-fire breathing Satan of Christianity) and/or His minions which leads to the possibility of Pact Making and/or Familiar Summoning. It will be like a compact version of the Devil's Herbarium talked about earlier. 

Corpus Draconis or the Dragon's Body isn't an herbarium exactly, but more of a collection of dragon oriented items from various cultures. In Cornish Witchcraft quartz naturally channels the Serpentine Flow, Dragon's Blood is said to be the blood of a dragon (Draco) that fell to the ground and sprouted the tree of the same name, snake skin is obvious, and whereas Ash is said to repel snakes, it might be because it is connected to the Norse dragon Nidhogg that gnaws on the World Tree Yggdrasil which is said to be an Ash tree. 

Herbarium Exorcismus is the Exorcist's Herbarium. It is not just for Catholics, but for anyone suitable to perform an exorcism. This collection of herbs and scents are not only for the exorcism of a possessed person (demoniac), but also for a haunted house... well, if you want them to go. You can also use this herbarium as a cleansing kit. I am also wanting to put together an exorcism kit centered around Solomonic Magick and Catholicism with a hint of Hoodoo plus a kit specifically oriented towards the Witch. 

Rosarium Exorcismus or the Exorcist's Rosary and alternatively, the Rosary of Exorcism. The Blessed Rosary on its own is a powerful tool against the Devil, but the idea of the Rosarium Exorcismus is that it has been designed specifically the hinder the Devil via the Rite of Exorcism and/or to cast demons out on its own. How would this be so, you might ask? I want to publish a booklet regarding it, but I will give a short description. The recitation of the Rosary is utilized as a form of Circle Casting and Consecrating while the meditations act as markers or milestones in the ritual that hinders the Devil and/or His demons while driving them out via the Fruit of the Blessed Mother's Womb. It is all akin to the Serpent of the Land energy. Needless to say that this Rosary won't be sanctioned by the Vatican anytime soon! Alternatively this Rosary will also be known as the Vade Retro Satana Rosary. This Latin phrase is of Benedictine origin and means, "Step back, Satan."

Rosarium Alchemia or the Alchemical Rosary also known as the Alchemists Rosary is intended to be an admixture of Gnostic Catholic Mysticism and Alchemy. 

Witch-Horn Powder is a new name for an item or rather a concoction that I planned on experimenting with shortly before I set out to open the Shadow Light Apothecary. The name was going to be something more on the lines of, "Powder of the Horned God." It was going to be a unique blend of various ingredients from both the animal and plant kingdom with possible additions from the mineral kingdom. The ingredients would be those of which had a connection with the Witch-Father mainly through folklore. This powder would be akin to that of the Witch Bag.  

Sanguis Christi Powder is another powder I intended to experiment with in the beginning. This one would have been a time consuming project as timing would be crucial and would take the better part of a year to complete. As you can guess this powder would be a powdered form of the Sacred Blood of Christ. 

Logic would suggest the use of sanctified lamb's blood, but as I do not advocate the harming of animals I would most likely not being using this ingredient unless I was able to obtain some through a very humane way. Instead I would be using the transubstantiated wine from a Holy Mass. To any who are not aware of this term or what I am talking about, I will explain. During the Holy Mass (Catholicism, but not solely restricted unto Catholics) the Wafer (bread) and Wine are transformed spiritually (mystically or otherwise magickally) into the symbolic manifestation of the Body (wafer) and Blood (wine) of Jesus Christ via Divine Intervention as was instructed to be done at the Last Supper. The act of transforming or otherwise transmuting (Alchemy) the Eucharist (Greek: Eukaristos meaning Thanksgiving is a term applied to the Wafer and Wine) is called Transubstantiation. 

This powder would not be solely Christian, but would also contain elements of the Gnostic Mysteries with bit of a Pagan twist. Basically the Powder would center around the Gnostic concept, as I learned it, known as the Serpent Christ. The Catholic elements or Mysteries would not be omitted from the process of making this glorious powder! The Most Sacred Heart of Jesus and Mary will be included in more than one way as a means of further transmuting this blessed powder into the Precious Blood of Our Lord!

Sanguis Versus Christus a.k.a Ichor Antichristos is an idea of a friend, Brother Blackthorne, that is, I suspect, a reverse of sorts of the Sanguis Christi Powder/Oil. He came up with the first tile and I came up with the second title. It refers to the Blood of the Antichrist. Ichor is a part of Greek mythology/belief as the Blood of the Gods and Antichristos is the Greek word for the Antichrist. As to the exact formula of construction, it will probably remain partially a trade secret of sorts as will other items on this list. 

The Powder of the Rosarium Serpent is a powder centering around the concept of the Rosarium Serpent which I believe was Divinely Inspired. The concept came to me when I was still working on Pentalphe and it is a complex concept, but the general idea is that it represents the Soul and our Spiritual Journey to enlightenment as however you wish to see it. The image of the Rosarium Serpent is a Serpent mixed with a rose (kind of like a genetically created plant-animal) crucified or rather hanging upon a wooden cross inside the center of a beautiful rose garden. There are more than roses, but primarily a Rosaceae Garden. There are so many mysteries stemming from this Serpentine Flora that I have decided to embark upon a journey to transcribe these Sacred Mysteries into book form which I suspect will not be finished for quite some time and maybe never. 

To give you a deeper glimpse at some of the ingredients that will be used in the making of this sacred powder will be, via experimentation, the entire rose plant meaning I would be using the roots, stems, thorns, rose hips, leaves, buds, blossoms etc. Aside from the Rose itself, the Rowan tree will be used as well as the Rosarium Serpent extends well beyond the Christian-Gnostic mysteries into Witchcraft and Paganism. It is, in fact, an ancient seeming symbol that represents all our paths and heritages. Our Ancestors stem from this plant. From the Serpentis Flora. I would also make use of the mineral kingdom and animal kingdom as snakes are sacred to this Mystery and the Quartz has its own connections to the Rosarium Serpent. 

Mortem Candela is Latin for Death Candle is a specially made candle specifically designed for use as a ritual foci as well as a sort of "conductor" for death energy which I call Nekros. Yes, I am aware that this word is Greek for dead. This candle is designed to draw forth and in a sense, bind a spirit of death. It isn't actually binding the spirit as much as keeping the spirit around out of intrigue on the spirit's part. 

The candle will also be among a spell-kit specifically designed to aid the Nekro-worker a.k.a a necromancer or death magickian. Someone that works with the dead whether if they are human, animal, or something else. Normally I would call this kind of magick, Nekromageia, but since people are adamant about proper terminology and that necromancy has become bit of a universal term for any kind of magick or almost any kind of magick revolving around the dead and death in general, use whatever term suits you best. 

Mortem Crucifixus is an item to be added to a spell-kit centered around the use of sacred Catholic items such as the Crucifix and Rosary (see Necro Rosary & the Rosarium Muertos) that have been ritually consecrated for the specific use within rites of necromancy and other forms of nekromageia. This specific idealized item is intended to be a metal crucifix candle-holder or candelabra. 

The idea, partially, behind the efficacy of this item is that the Cross itself represents the Crossroads of Life and Death. That Christ had the ability to raise the dead, but also to heal the sick therefore He had power, to a degree at least, over Life and Death. He arose from the dead after being crucified upon a symbol of the Crossroads atop the Place of the Skull also known as Calvary Hill and Golgotha. At one point He was in possession of the Key(s) to Heaven which can be understood as meaning that Jesus was or still is a Gatekeeper. The Crucifix not only reminds us of our own mortality, but that we are more than Sheep. That our souls allow us the ability to perform miracles of our own! 

The Mortem Crucifixus is, like the Mortem Candela, to be used as a ritual foci. It is believed that the Cross acts as a summon tool itself, almost like the way a sigil acts as a energy current conduit. Candles are believed to be natural attractors of ghosts. 

Specialty Saint Rosaries & Chaplets are rosaries and chaplets that have both been seated (a terms that refers to a spirit being called to inhabit an item) with a specific Saints. The rosaries will come in plastic, glass (possible), wood, and stone/crystal (ruby, sapphire etc.). For quite sometime I have wanted to make a Cowrie rosary which I would like to be able to consecrate to the Blessed Lwa, Ezili/Erzulie Freda of Vodou or maybe to the Orisha, Oshun of Santeria. 

The Rosary will be of a specific color of combination of color (or a specific wood etc.) which will be assigned to a specific Saint. Purple for St. Cyprian or Red for St. Michael. There will also be a series of Planetary Rosaries or specially made Chaplets corresponding to the Planets. 

The Dragon's Rosary or Draconis Rosarium is twofold in that on the one hand it will deal with the Sacred Mystery of the Rosarium Serpent and the other will be dealing with either the Mystery of the Dragon itself and/or the Mystery of the Dragon dealing with a Saint such as St. George.

Daemonum Rosarium is intended to be an item constructed and consecrated in the name of daemonium. Definitely a lot of experimentation to be done with this one as it is strictly born of idea. It may lead to the ideal of using the rosary specifically for binding and purging or the unique summoning of demons similar to that of the Nekro Rosary. Other ideas and titles include the Rosarium est Maleficorum (Rosary of the Sorcerers) and/or Rosarium  Contestatus Daemonium (Rosary of Conjured Demon). The Last two are meant to be Rosaries that have been converted to the use of Sorcery and a mix of Traditional Craft in there - Sanctus Adversus - such as calling upon the Blessed Mother either in Her Christian guise or Her Witchmother status to either bind and summon or beck forth the Hordes of Hell! Remember that on the one hand She is the Mother of God and on the other hand She is the Mother of Witches and Demons. 

Gehennam Rosary - Coming Soon!

Holy Guardian Angel Talisman is intended to be a very personalized item. In many ways it is similar to the Mojo Bag of Hoodoo. It will be made with certain base ingredients such as angelica root with other items added which correspond to the person the talisman is being made for. The item will be ritually consecrated to the person in as much a potent manner as possible meaning that for starters the best possible time for the consecration is upon day of birth and preferably starting at the exact time of birth. This is not absolutely necessary as the talisman can still be ritually consecrated to the person through other means of personal connection.

There is a blog post on the Treading the Crooked Path blog that speaks of discovering the sigil or identity of ones Holy Guardian Angel by utilizing the persons birth chart and more or less playing a game of connect the dots. He said to map it out in the manner of the Kabbalistic Tree of Life using only the seven commonly used planets. I don't remember which planet he said to start with, but I will add my own learning to it which stems from a Spagyrical (plant alchemy) source and this is how it would go: Saturn to Jupiter to Mars to Sol to Venus to Mercury to Luna. I would personally recommend using all the planets and get the most out of the chart.There would be many more connections made primarily stemming from the Kabbalah and other Western sources. The item would then of course be personalized to the person via hair, clippings, or even blood. 

Alchemical-Astrological Medical Kit will be a sort of survival kit or emergency kit which is not to say that you should throw that white box with a big red cross on it away! This kit will contain alchemically prepared medicines for various ailments. Keep on mind that I am NOT a medical doctor etc.

Infernal Fetish or Poppets of Hell among other fitting names are Spirit Dolls, uniquely made and designed ones in comparison to the Planetary Poppets etc. They will be specially designed poppet-fetishes designed to house demonic entities or to attract such infernal energies/entities (think of a reversal of an apotropaic charm). These fetishes aren't only used for dark purposes as well, but can be made into a central altar piece for devotion and dedication to certain entities. Therefore these could easily be fashioned for a much less infernal entity/deity. I am sure they would also be an amazing piece for Chaos Magick though I can't say I am greatly liking the idea of having one of them destroyed, but we will see where things go... experimentation after all!

Hexerei Tasche or Witch Bags already have a fair amount dedicated to them with the exclusion of the German title which means Witchcraft Bag or Taschen for bags plural. I would like to start a Hexerei Series of Products. Yes, this apothecary is dedicated to Witchcraft and Hexerei is the German word for Witchcraft, but the idea I have is a specific brand of Witchcraft products resonating with a sense of German and Norse mythological attributes. 

Another reason for me adding this section is that I thought about adding a separate type of Witch Bag to the inclusion of this stores inventory to come - a Maledictus Bag or Maledictum Sacculum which means Curse Bag in Latin. I thought about going with Hexen Bags. 

Bat Nut - Devil Pod Charms & Spirit Repositories is an idea I had regarding the Devil Pod. Within on the pod there are two areas (top and bottom) that can be opened up which I assumed if the case need be then I would plug them up with beeswax. The seed pod is used for protection and apparently has a similar nature to that of a gargoyle. You know how gargoyles are supposed to scare off evil spirits. According to Catherine Yronwode's Lucky Mojo website, these pods have been used on altars to Eleggua (Santeria) and Exu (Quimbanda). I might be mistaking, but it makes a bit more sense to me for the pods to be used in conjunction with the Exu and/or Pomba Gira spirits of Quimbanda. 

Anyways, the idea is that the pods like any plant contains a Spirit or Genii which aroused the question of whether if the pod could be used as a type of Spirit Summoning/Drawing/Attracting Device or just as a Spirit Repository a.k.a a Spirit House. I thought about filling the pod with certain materials resulting in the pod being used as a Spirit Attractor especially for Necromantic reasons. The pod resembles a bat or rather the head of a bat and we all know that the bat is not only a symbol associated with Witchcraft, but also the Night and Death. They are associated with the Caverns of the Underworld. 

If the pod itself represents a "devil" (as it has a rather demonic appearance) then why not work it in such a way that it becomes useful with a certain type of devil?

Laqueum Diaboli - Latin for Devil's Trap. These will be various items that are either designed to entrap/ensnare a devil, demon, negative entity, or already contains an a demon or other negative entity within it. They may also only simply contain a demonic or otherwise negative essence/energy. 

The ones that are already infused with Aethyr Diabolica would be used for a number of reasons. Maybe the Sorcerer that buys it will wish to enslave the spirit to do their bidding or simply release it. Maybe to curse or otherwise torment someone. Perhaps it will be used to fuel a spell or ritual work, acting like a battery of sorts.
